Cookie Policy

Last updated: 2026-05-22

This policy explains what cookies are, which ones we use on eywafrica.org, and how you can control them.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help sites remember your preferences, keep you signed in, and measure how the site is used. Some cookies are set by us (first-party); others are set by services we use (third-party).

Cookies we use

Essential cookies — required for the site to function. We use a small consent-state cookie to remember whether you have dismissed our cookie banner. No analytics or marketing identifiers.

Analytics cookies — set only after you consent.

  • Google Analytics 4 (_ga, _ga_*) — aggregated traffic measurement. 13-month expiry.
  • Microsoft Clarity (_clck, _clsk, CLID) — anonymised session insights. Expiry varies (1 day to 1 year).

Marketing cookies — none currently. We do not run advertising pixels or remarketing tags.

Third-party cookies

The third parties listed above set their own cookies governed by their own privacy policies:

How to opt out

You can decline non-essential cookies via our cookie banner (see ConsentBanner.astro) the first time you visit, or by clearing the consent cookie and reloading.

You can also block or delete cookies via your browser settings. Note that blocking essential cookies may break parts of the site.
